1. At
the "Haidushko sborishte"
Kalofer
- Panicite - "The two oaks" - Kalofer - 6 hours, approximately
30 km. long, reaching 1400m. above sea level.
The trip starts from the Tourist Information Center (TIC) in
Kalofer. You are taken to Panicite by bus. There you are taken
to see the cultural monument of the founder of the city - Kalofer
voivoda. The rest part of the trip continues on horses. You
reach "The two oaks" in one and a half hour. At "Haidushko Sborishte" is
set to have a long rest.
At this point
you can see a spectacular view of the inaccessible part of
the "South Djendem" reserve. During this time our guides
are going to tell you about the history of this place. After "The
two oaks", there is a stop at Milkovec place - a visit to the
local sheep milk farm is set. After that you are taken again
to Panicite, where the horse part trip ends. You are taken back
to Kalofer bye bus.

2. The
path to "Tiha obitel"
Kalofer - Panicite
- Pokrov "St. Bogorodica" - males monastery - Kalofer - 6
hours. The trip starts from TIC Kalofer. You are taken to Panicite by bus the
rest part of the trip is by foot. After crossing "Paradjishka poliana" and "Avramovi
huts" You are going to visit a small chapel - "Pokorv Bogorodichen". There you
will learn the legend of the foundation of Zvynigrad and you will find out more
interesting geographical facts about this part of Bulgaria. By crossing a steep
path of the "White rocks" you will reach the valley of "Biala reka" (white river)
which is a part of the "Central Balkan" national park. Our trip leads us to "Sinia
vir" and "Manastirskia bent". Here it ends the easy part of the trip
and start the inaccessible
part of the reserve "Djendema". At "Bivak's" place of "Biala reka" is planed
a stop, where you can rest and have something to eat. After that a visit to
the male's monastery is planned, where a bus will be waiting to take us back
to Kalofer
NOTE:
It is recommended to have a light tourist equipment, mackintosh and
a bathing suit.

3. "Tzar's
road"

Kalofer - Panicite - Paradjika - Kalofer - 6 hours.
The trip starts from TIC Kalofer. You are taken to Panicite by bus and the rest
part of the trip is with horses. At first you cross mixed deciduous
forest, next you are going to visit a sheep milk-farm high into the mountain.
Next the route crosses "Paradjika" place and stops at "Kamenlivica" place. At
this point you can see a spectacular view of the inaccessible part of the "South
Djendem" reserve.
Here You will make a long stop to rest and eat. Next the trip continues trough "Poniaka" place
to "Panicite". There is a bus waiting to take the group back to Kalofer.
NOTE:
Participants are recommended to be dressed in sports wear and wind
proof clothes.

4. Climb
to Botev peak.
Duration - 6 - 8 hours, starts at 9.00am. and finishes back in Kalofer approximately
at 17.00pm.- The trip is 80 km long reaching 2376m. above sea level.
The trip starts from the center of Kalofer. You are going to ride with a car/jeep
trough extreme mountain pathways, until you reach the highest mountain peak of "Stara
Planina" - Botev peak. At 2000m. above sea level a stop is set, where you can
rest and have lunch at the shelter "Marinka". Here at Marinka there is a captured
natural spring water. If the weather is clear, you can see a great view of the
northern and southern parts of Bulgaria. You can also see the "Jendema" reserve.
You are going to be taken back to Kalofer the same way.
NOTE: Participants are recommended to be dressed in sports wear and wind proof
clothes

5. Taja
Hut - Kademliisko praskalo
Duration - 6
- 8 hours, starts at 9.00am. and finishes back in Kalofer approximately
at 17.00pm.- The trip is 80 km long.
The trip starts from the center of the city.
At first the route takes us to "Panicite" area. Next the route continues trough
hard mountain pathways until you reach "Pirova Livada". After a short break
the trip continues trough "Rusalkite" gate, until you reach "Taja" hut. Then
is planed a longer stop to rest and eat, also you will be served an aromatic
Mountain tea. Next, we take the route for Taja village. A few kilometers after,
you will reach the famous in this area "Kademliiskoto praskalo" (praskalo -
it is a high and very beautiful waterfall) where a stop is set. If you are
not too tired and you wish, we will climb to the upper part of the "Kademliiskoto
praskalo".
If anyone wishes, for additional pay, he/she can be lowered down along the "Kademliiskoto
praskalo". The trip continues to Taja village, where we take the route back
to Kalofer.
NOTE:
You need to have a light tourist equipment, and to have wind proof
clothes.

1. Trip
to "Heaven" Hut
Kalofer - Panicite
- Rai Hut - Botev Peak - Kalofer
Day first - Kalofer - Rai Hut - 6 hours.
The trip starts from TIC Kalofer. A bus is going to take you to Kamenlivica place.
The rest 7km are to be taken by foot. The pathway goes trough Paradjika area
located in "Central Balkan" National park. Going deep into the "Dejndema" reserve
we will walk trough cool mountain routes trough the Oak forest. You are also
going to cross the rivers "Malka Buzovica" and "Goliama Buzovica" affluxes of "White
river". After you have gone trough "Rogacheva gora", you are going to see a
lovely view of the "Heaven Rocks" and "Rai" Hut. At the hut a rest is planned.
Until the end of the day, a visit to "Rogacheva" cave and "Raisko praskalo" is
planned.
Day second - Rai Hut - Botev Peak - Kalofer - 10 hours. A pathway trough the
central part ot "Heaven
Rocks" takes us to the highest top of "Stara Planina" -
Botev Peak. After a short break, we take the route back to "Rai" Hut where we
will have lunch and then we head back to Kalofer.
Secon choice of the route
Day second - "Rai" Hut (1540 m above sea level) - "Raisko Praskalo" (1703m
above sea level) - "Rai" Hut - Kalofer. Climbing trough "Tarzanova" pathway,
you will reach the upper part of the waterfall. We will go down with climbing
equipment trough "Blagoeva" pathway. The pathway goes trough the center of
the 180 meter high rock, that go to "Rai" Hut. After a rest we head back to
Kalofer.
NOTE: It is strongly
recommended to have the proper tourist equipment and a mackintosh.

1.Along
the Tzar's Road to Djendema
About the Route:
Duration : 6 hours
Difficulty : II degree
Characteristics : Horseback riding along a forest path with a constantly changing
panoramic view
Necessary equipment: Sportswear and windproof clothes
Starting point: The Panitsite – near Kalofer, at the border of Central Balkan
National Park
At the route's starting point, participants will
get acquainted with the local horse breed and the typical mountain
way of saddling. The group, while accompanied by their guide, will
then head toward the “Poneka” and enter the territory of Central Balkan
National Park through one of its main entrances. Here the route joins
the “Tzarski put” or “Royal Road,” so named in honor of Tsar Boris
III who started its construction in order to reach Hija Rai- a mountain
chalet and one of his favorite places in Bulgaria . The trail then
continues through a beech tree forest and opens to the magnificent
views of Djendema Nature Reserve. In the final leg of the journey,
riders enjoy the spectacular scenery-steep cliffs, exposed rock, and
deep gorges- of the reserve until their arrival at Kamenlivitsa- a
notable viewpoint and resting area on the edge of Djendema. Here in
Paradjika, there are excellent opportunities for picnic and recreation.
After a break the group returns along the Royal Road to the Panitsite.
The starting point for the route is located only seven kilometers ouside of
town and transport can be provided on preliminary request from the participants.

2. To the
Small Monastery
About the Route
Duration: 2.5 hours
Difficulty: I degree
Characteristics: Horseback riding along a scenic mountain path
Necessary equipment: Sportswear
Starting point: The Panitsite – 5km from Kalofer on the border of Central Balkan
National Park
At the route's starting point, participants will
get acquainted with the local horse breed and the typical mountain
way of saddling. The group, while accompanied by their guide, will
then head toward the “Avramovi Kolibi”. The road crosses vast mountain
meadows, shows the panoramic view of the south slopes of the Central
Balkan National Park and after about a half an hour of riding, enters
the Monastery grove. The route continues through a century-old beech
tree forest and reaches the edge of the “White Rocks,” on which the
small Monastery is perched. Here, amidst the amazing scenery, the group
will be introduced to the history of the Small Monastery and the town
of Kalofer. The journey then continues past the main entrance of the
Central Balkan National Park and ends at the Panistite.
The starting point for the route is located only 7 km out of town, and transport
to it and back can be provided on the preliminary request of the participants.
A picnic can be requested on reservation.

3. On Horseback
to the "Haidushko sborishte"
About the Route

Characteristics: Horseback riding across rough, steep terrain with great accompanied
by impressive panoramic views
Necessary equipment: Sportswear and windproof clothes
Starting point: Panitsite – near Kalofer on the border of Central Balkan National
Park
At the route's starting point, participants will get acquainted with
the local horse breed and the typical mountain way of saddling. The group,
while accompanied by their guide, will then head towards the “Zanogata.”
On their way, the participants will be introduced to the characteristic
flora of the south slopes of Stara Planina mountain range as well as
become acquainted with the way of living of local shepards and stock-breeders.
After approximately an hour and a half of horseback riding the group reaches
the “Dvata Buka” in the territory of Central Balkan National Park- 1300 meters
above sea level and the highest point of the route.
At the arranged spot for recreation near the “Bacho Nikola” mountain dam, riders
have the opportunity to relax, lunch and learn the story of the legendary Chieftain
and his detachment. The place reveals majestic panoramic views of Djendema Nature
Reserve and the entire Rose Valley. On the way back, the group willpass along
a panoramic road from mountain peak Botev to the town of Kalofer.
The starting point for the route is located only 7 km out of town, and transport
to it and back can be provided on the preliminary request of the participants.
A picnic can be requested on reservation. |
